![]() ![]() Learning a whole new way to play is a huge investment, and the more you've already invested into practicing and training before, the harder the decision is to start from ground-up learning a wildly different technique. This isn't a small adjustment to technique or strategy, this is a technique where you have to hold your controller upside-down. The longer the state of things stay the same and this issue remains unaddressed, the more pressure there is to ditch your current playstyle and re-program your muscle memory for a completely different way of playing. Rollers won't achieve consistency, huge scores on post-killscreen are a blue moon type scenario, hypertappers will always remain competitive. This isn't really a recent development I foresaw this four months ago, and was called overdramatic because of it. But, I don't think that alone is grounds to think he would do something untoward now. In the only instance where he did not announce in advance that he was doing something untoward, it was still with the intent to be caught or reveal the secret behind the scores the alt's name "Cheminatingly" is a rough anagram, something like "I'm Lying n Cheat." I don't think he would take it as far as "cheating unadvertised" again as it was admittedly a pretty bold move. Hydrant generally advertises the fact that there is some sort of trickery going on in his experiment videos, and invites viewers to figure out the methods used. He also uses his technical expertise and theorycrafting to help detect real instances of cheating. He always goes forward with the intent to reveal the secret behind the trick. ![]() Hydrant's role as a "cheater" has been that of an experimenter, a researcher, or sometimes a performer akin to a magician. ![]() PS: Regarding the recent developments, two suggestions for CTWC 2022: a) have an additional DAS bracket, b) use level 39 as a cap - points achieved beyond 330 lines don't count. Here are some links of the footage in the corresponding Twitch VODs:Įdit: Comment below states that Jounce is an alternative account of HydrantDude. He reached level 19 with 695k points, and level 29 with incredible 1352k points where he cleared 121 further lines including 2 Tetrises. And now Jounce managed to push it to 1,627,720 points during this month's CTM tournament. One week ago, HydrantDude improved the WR slightly to ~1465k points. Two months ago Cheez got the first recorded 1.4 million points and improved the score world record to 1461k points ( summary by EricICX). So, it's no big surprise that records are getting broken left and right. And the Classic Tetris World Championship is approaching. This year we saw the rise of the Rolling technique.
